A child’s dream
I’ve had this idea in my head for close to 60 years. When I was 5, I used to play in the dirt and sand with a small red MG (from Dinky Toys). It was my favorite toy for ten years. I played so often with it that, in the end, the paint on the wings was full of scratch. One day (I must have been 11 or maybe 12 years old), I had the chance of getting in a “real” old car which took me on a small road through the countryside around Berne. I can still remember the smell of warm oil and the cold wind in my hair. For me, this was heaven.
About D’nd’D
D’nd’D (for Daniel et sa Daimler) is a small family
business, created in the Spring of 2013. Daniel and Jacqueline are the managers. They
live in Sainte-Croix, in the North-West of Switzerland.
Daniel. Soon in retirement, I am a translator, an engineer from EPFL, a house-builder, a gardener and now an apprentice mechanic in the field of old, non-electronic cars. I like meeting people and share my passions.
Jacqueline. I’ve been living with Daniel for more than 10 years but it’s only in 2012 that I noticed his passion for old cars. When he took me to visit the museum of the Hervé foundation in Aigle, I was really touched to see him so excited and filled with wonder. I told him: “You should follow your dream and, by all means, find a way to buy one for yourself!” I work as a mediator for couples and families, and I am a teacher in non-violent communication. I also love to cook and I will be the one preparing all sorts of nice dishes for the picnic excursions.
